Dr. Brooke Barr, Doctor of Nursing Practice-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, was born and raised in rural Canton, TX. She moved to Dallas in 2014 and married her high school sweetheart, Garrett. After four years of marriage, Brooke and Garrett welcomed their first child, Paxton James. Becoming a mother has made her even more empathetic, encouraging, and loving with her patient families and their precious littles. She has a love for Tex Mex, Boxer dogs, traveling, spending time with her family and friends and baking!
Dr. Barr started her studies at Dallas Baptist University, later transferring to Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing for her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Her passion grew in the neonatal intensive care unit where her desire to serve the pediatric population blossomed. She later began her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the Medical University of South Carolina to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Barr also practices as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University School of Nursing in Dallas where she helps train future nurses in their medical studies.
She is an ambitious provider, specializing in the care and treatment of newborns, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and young adults. She provides quality and holistic medical care to patients including examining, diagnosing, prescribing, interpreting diagnostic studies, screening, and managing chronic illnesses in youths.
Her passion, however, is educating patients and their families regarding healthy lifestyle choices and optimal medical and holistic treatment options for their child and family.
