Eileen was born and raised in New Orleans and has always known she wanted to work in healthcare with children. Being around children is her passion, even from a young age, as she babysat for family and friends and worked in her church nursery as much as possible during her younger years.
Eileen completed her undergraduate studies at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. While attending Millsaps, Eileen earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Before nursing school, Eileen spent some time studying abroad in Greece and Australia. Upon her return, Eileen continued her education and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
After graduation, Eileen began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the arena of adult orthopedic medical surgical nursing. She worked in New Orleans at Ochsner Baptist and in Dallas at Baylor Carrollton. Eileen followed her passion and entered the world of pediatrics as an RN at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. In her 6 years at Scottish Rite, Eileen mentored many student nurses and recent graduate nurses, eventually serving as Charge Nurse. While simultaneously working at Scottish Rite, Eileen obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and earned her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner board certification in primary care.
Eileen has always had a passion for nutrition and healthy living. In her own life, Eileen cleaned up her diet which helped to eliminate her chronic allergies, asthma and acne. Through this experience, her enthusiasm for a more natural approach to health intensified. Eileen enjoys serving her community of patients in much the same way, by cultivating healthier lives for children and their families through a natural approach. She is honored to have that opportunity as part of the Natural Choice Pediatrics team.
Eileen is a member of the following;
National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP)
Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP)
American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA).
She also stays active in the community as a member of the Dallas Alumnae chapter of Delta Delta Delta.
Outside of work, Eileen enjoys spending time with her husband, running, rollerblading, learning to cook new, healthy meals, socializing with friends at local restaurants, and traveling whenever possible.
